We got given a brief of taking a picture of someone we know, someone we don’t know, and a self-portrait, the brief did not really bother me, I knew exactly how I wanted the photos to be and did not hesitate at all at this brief. 

This is the first person who I wanted to take a picture of and it is my girlfriend this was a moment picture which was taken just after handing in her dissertation this is a proud photo of when she just finished her dissertation and has had many sleepless nights and many nights of crying and bad nights but in the end, she had handed the dissertation in. I feel this picture is slightly focused on the wrong part of Beth and is a slightly low focus on her nose rather than her eyes and by looking at this image the dynamics could have been better by changing her body direction more.

3rd Year Dance Student

This was the picture of someone who I don’t know but was a very curious man, this is a person who I knew nothing about but I loved his amount of “swagger” and his strut, he was so willing and waited for me to get a picture, I love this picture and he was so curious as to what this is for and what this was going to be used for but I was happy to take his picture. This is my favourite out the three images as this image is perfectly in focus and the wall in the background is in good depth allowing the subject to stand out clearly. The lighting in this image is also inviting and allows for the man to look bright and fresh.

Observant Man

This is a self portrait of myself although looks to be a picture taken in the selfie position it was actually taken using a tripod and the classic selfie pose, this is a portrait in my eyes and is reflective of my personality and the use of the black and white on this is, in my opinion, making the depth of field more apparent. i like this image as my eyes are shut and the image still has a lot of good technique with the focus being clear and the use of depth also being clear for example  everything that is blackened around the edge of the image is out of focus and even the arms are out of focus, the use of this image was a daring use as the image I consider to be a self-portrait but others may see it as a silly “selfie”.
